INDIVIDUAL FIRST AID KIT
An Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) is required for every individual in the group. It can be carried in your vehicle, on your person, or in your blow out bag. Just make sure your IFAK is in a location that is easy to access and members know of its location. It is preferable to have this in a fanny pack. If wearing, the five or eight o clock position on the body is ideal for placement. This insures that it is out of the way of anything on your pistol belt and you can still rapidly draw your side-arm without any issues. Insure that you can get to your pistol magazines and rifle mag (if you have one) on your gun belt without any issue. Do what works for you, but make sure that you are able to get the contents out yourself should the need arise. Remember that your IFAK is for your personal use only. If treating a fellow group member, treat that member with their own IFAK. Try to never use your IFAK for anyone else. Additional unused tourniquets can be placed in your gear and vehicle within easy reach of both hands. Additional tourniquets and small pressure dressings can be carried in my cargo pockets along with a chest seal.
